This is a document that allows foreign nationals to study in a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada.
Provinces and territories approve (or “designate”) schools that can enrol international students. These schools are known as designated learning institutions (DLI).
If you need a study permit, your acceptance letter must be from a DLI.

Requirements of a student visa:
- Acceptance letter from a DLI (Designated Learning Institution)
- Proof of payment of the tuition fees and living expenses(preferably for the full first year)
- Sufficient funds to live in Canada for you and your accompanying family members
- Provide a police certificate to prove there is no criminal record and not a risk to the seccurity of Canada.
- Evidence of good health condition (Medical Examination)
- Convince an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your studies.

- You will get a Post Graduate Work Permit for up to 3 years and gain your Canadian work experience

- Your spouse or common-law partner can obtain an Open Work Permit and work legally in Canada- and get their Canadian work experience
- Your minor children can study at school
